Terms and Conditions

The services provided by PolyU Virtual Recruitment Platform (“PVRP”) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (“PolyU”) are available to PolyU students and recent graduates (“Job Seekers”) and employers who have registered for a PVRP account (“Employers”). Access to, and use of the contents and services on, PVRP is subject to the terms and conditions set out in this document. Your continued access to and use of PVRP shall imply your acknowledgement of your understanding and acceptance of the said terms and conditions, which PolyU reserves the right to vary, amend, modify, or delete at any time without prior notice.

  1. Acceptable uses of PVRP
    1. Employer
      1. Employer agrees that it shall use PVRP for lawful and job-related purposes only.
      2. Employer agrees that Job Seekers’ data, as provided by themselves, obtained via PVRP shall be used solely for assessing and recruiting Job Seekers. Employer agrees not to disclose any of the said data to any other parties without the prior and explicit consent of the Job Seekers concerned.
    2. Job Seeker
      1. Job Seeker shall not use PVRP for any purposes other than job-seeking or obtaining job-related information.
      2. Job Seeker shall not provide any of his/her data that are non-job-related, incomplete, and/or false in any forms on PVRP.
    3. All users
      1. All users shall not upload to, store on, or transmit in whatsoever way via PVRP any material that (1) violates any applicable laws or regulations; (2) may cause unrest in politics, religion, or national security; (3) infringes others’ intellectual property rights; or (4) contains viruses, worms, or any other materials that may interrupt or damage any operation of PVRP.
      2. All users shall not establish or reproduce any information on PVRP in whatsoever way in any channels unless prior written consent is obtained from PolyU.
      3. PolyU reserves the right to edit or remove any information contained in any users’ materials on its sole discretion.
      4. PolyU reserves the right to suspend or terminate any users’ access to PVRP on the ground that they violate any of the terms and conditions set out in this document.
  2. Responsibility
    1. PolyU reserves the right to, but is not obliged to, monitor PVRP and the contents therein at any time. PolyU takes no responsibility whatsoever for any material on PVRP that is not prepared by PolyU. All users agree that they are fully responsible for any material or data they provide or prepare in whatsoever way on or via PVRP.
    2. Employers shall recruit any Job Seekers at their sole discretion. PolyU shall not in any way be regarded as an agent of any Employers or Job Seekers in relation to the use of PVRP.
    3. All users access and use PVRP, and consider any materials or data on PVRP, entirely at their own risk. All users shall be responsible for any of their own communications and actions on PVRP.
    4. PolyU does not guarantee that PVRP and its contents are error-free or free of any viruses or other harmful mechanisms.
    5. PolyU shall not be responsible for the contents on PVRP of any links to third-party websites.
    6. Job Seekers are advised to stay alert to employment traps. Please refer to the following webpages for advice on how to avoid falling into such traps:
  3. Indemnity

    All users agree to indemnify PolyU against any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, losses, etc., arising from or relating to their use of PVRP or the contents therein to the fullest extent permitted by the applicable laws and regulations.

  5. Disclaimer

    PolyU shall not be liable for damage of any kind suffered by any users whatsoever directly or indirectly arising from or relating to their use of PVRP and the contents therein.
